Role of sex hormones in periodontium during pregnancy: A review

ABSTRACT:There exists a connection between increased plasma levels of pregnancy hormones and a decline in periodontal health status. It has been noted that the influence of sex hormones can be minimized with good plaque control during pregnancy. This review article highlights the effects of female sex hormones on the periodontium during pregnancy.
