ABSTRACT:The bond strength of the orthodontic brackets should be able to withstand the forces applied during the orthodontic treatment and also permit easy removal of the brackets without damage to enamel surface. In the study a significant statistical difference existed with three different primers along with two different adhesives bonded on 60 upper premolar teeth with Gemini metal brackets by ANOVA test. Tran’s bond XT primer showed significantly greater SBS than the Assure primer and Ortho Solo Universal Sealant. Higher ARI scores noted with Trans bond XT along with Trans bond XT primer. Shear bond strength of Assure primer is comparable with the conventional Trans bond XT primer.
