Abstract: There are many materials used to take impressions for patients in dental clinics. The choice of an impression material for a particular situation depends on the treatment being provided and operator preference. Even if a lot of rubber base impression materials with good physical properties was used to take impressions, the alginate material was able to prove its usefulness and has been a staple of most dental practices the world. This article will give a complete explanation of alginate material and the best way to use it when making alginate impressions.
