ABSTRACT:The aim of the present case report is to evaluate the adequate fixation for the surgical treatment of condylar head fractures in the correct position and stable fixation of the fragment in its normal anatomical position. Open reduction and internal fixation using an extra-oral approach has few benefits over the nonsurgical treatment. Concerns, however remain about the risk of facial nerve injury, post operative facial nerve weakness and facial scarring when operating in this region. The objective of condyle fracture management is to achieve, pre-injury occlusion, adequate and pain-free mouth opening, functional and stable temporo-mandibular joint and good facial and jaw symmetry.
