Abstract: Over the past years orthodontists have pondered over gaining space in the arch. Various methods with advantages and disadvantages were hypothesized out of which extraction, reproximation of tooth surfaces and distalization were widely used and accepted. In this literature we are including the advent of distalization in orthodontics along with its advantages, disadvantages and devices used for the above.
