AUTHOR(S): Ajay Parihar, Ashish Saxena, Amit Rawat and Arvind Jain
ABSTRACT:The spread of Coronavirus disease (COVID 19) caused widespread public health concerns, outbreak is still on a rise and infection control measures are necessary to prevent the virus from further spreading and to help control the epidemic situation. The risk of cross infection can be high between patients and dental practitioners. Dental Surgeons are exposed to risk of infection due to the face-to-face communication and the exposure to saliva, blood, and other body fluids, and the handling of sharp instruments. Thus, this article aims to provide a brief overview of the COVID 19 and specific recommendations for dental practice suggested for patient screening, infection control strategies and patient management control. The precautions and guidelines will help dental practitioners as well as the patients and community in preventing and spread of the disease.
