ABSTRACT:The management of TMD is difficult and controversial. Treatment options for TMD include patient education, behavior therapy, physiotherapy, occlusal splint therapy, drug therapy, occlusal adjustments, surgical intervention, and combined treatment. The purpose of this article is to review the different type of occlusal splints and their role in managing TMDs.
