ABSTRACT:Stress represents a set of non-specific changes, both emotionally and physically, triggered by some unwanted stimuli. Stress has been accepted as a ‘risk factor’ for periodontal disease recently. The hormonal and behavioral changes induced by the emotional stress explains the relationship between stress and periodontal disease. This review article enlightens the influence of stress on periodontal pathology.
