Abstract: Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is one of the latest radiographic modality available. It is use are enormous in medical and dental field. Among all CBCT is an essential commodity in the field of prosthodontics. The amazing capability of CBCT for providing sub-millimeter resolution in images of high diagnostic quality, with short scanning times (10–70 s) and radiation dosages reportedly up to 15–100 times lower than those of conventional Computed tomography scans are the unique features of CBCT. The aim of this article is to educate the Prosthodontist to CBCT technology, provide an overview of CBCT systems and review the specific application of various CBCT display modes to clinical Prosthodontics practice.
