Abstract:

Dental implants are often the treatment of choice for replacing missing teeth. The success of implants depends on multiple factors that the clinician must consider to ensure a favorable prognosis.
Objective: A clinical case involving the management of mucogingival deficiency with autologous grafts around implants in the aesthetic anterior region is presented.
Materials and Methods: A two-phase surgical procedure was performed by placing a connective tissue graft and a free gingival graft.
Results: Clinically significant gains in the width and thickness of the keratinized tissue were achieved.
Conclusions: It is essential to maintain and/or generate an ideal peri-implant phenotype to create conditions that favor long-term stability.
