Supra crestal tissue attachment is a term used for biological width. It is composed of Junctional epithelium and connective tissue. It plays a crucial role in maintenance of Periodontal Health. Biological Width acts as a protective barrier against bacterial invasion and promotes Periodontal stability. Many studies have been carried out stating the importance of Supra crestal tissue attachment (SCTA) in placement of crown and restorations. Biological Width maintenance is also important in periodontal surgeries and implantology. Dentists must follow stringent criteria and principles to guarantee that the Biological Width is respected during various procedures to deliver optimum treatment outcomes.
